You can find these items usually at the top of the listing in a particular category. If you look to the right you will see they have sold 740 of these items. Earning money from ebay once you have a few tools in your tool box can be a fairly easy task. To find miss spelt items there are several websites available including bargainchecker.com and bestwebactions.net. Once you have found your miss spelt item, and it is at a low enough price with no reserve, and also you are happy with the sellers feedback, do not just dive in and bid straight away. Bidding early in an auction will only drive the price up. Unless you are bidding to secure the item – so either it isn’t removed from ebay, or so that the spelling error isn’t corrected, you should not bid too early. The title on a listing cannot be altered once a bid has been placed so if you spot a miss spell item at a very silly low price it might be worth putting a low bid in just so this cannot be corrected. A bit cruel I know!!Otherwise don’t bid. Use auctionsniper.com instead or one of the many auction sniper tools that enable you to place a bid in the last few seconds of an auction. This is a great tool because you can place your maximum amount you are willing to pay for an item and it will bid up to that amount on your behalf. You don’t even need to be at the computer!!!
Simply enter your maximum bid and ebay proxy bids on your behalf up to that amount. This means your bid will only go up to your higher amount if someone bids against you and you may even win the item at a much lower price. This is much more likely since the program puts your bid in in the last 5 seconds of the auction thereby reducing the chance of a counter bid. You may still lose the auction of course but that will depend on other bidders highest bid and how many people are watching the item (and possibly even using a bid sniper program like you)!!
The title of a listing is the most important part since it will draw traffic by virtue of the main keywords. Try to include as many keywords as possible in the title including size, colour, make brand and of course whatever the item is. If it is a jacket you could also list coat, raincoat, jacket, as well as the brand, colour and size. Try to use the whole space you have to include as many keywords as possible. You will find more buyers and get a better price.
Finding spelling omissions is another way to make money on ebay. Often the keyword is not spelt incorrectly so you can’t find it in a misspell search. Often the keyword is missing altogether!!! The way to find these items is to search a specific category, narrow the search into designer names using the search tab on the left, perhaps click on ‘auctions only’ and tick the box for UK only (or whichever country you want). Now you will have a list of items within a category narrowed down to a few designer or branded items. This is the clever bit: in the search box just above the listings you can remove the significant keyword by typing in ‘-keyword’ So if you are searching jeans and have narrowed your search to diesel jeans, you simply enter -diesel in the search box. Diesel is often spelt incorrectly so you could also type in -deisel. This will leave only the items listed in that category without this main keyword. This can be done in any category. Just think of a branded item – Tom Tom Sat Nav, Levi’s Jeans, Toshiba Laptop etc. Just narrow your search to include the brand name and then omit it from the search leaving only the badly listed items which are either in the wrong category or have failed to list one of the main search keywords. Obviously this is only of value if you can make money on the item and so it must have a low starting bid.
