Make Money Blogging!
So, how do we make money from blogging and what is ‘blogging’ anyway? A blog is simply a Web Log, hence ‘blog’. It is usually a series of posts covering information about a certain niche. Usually the writer of a blog has a special interest in, and is knowledgeable about the topic area which is why they write the information. If you have a special interest in a certain topic why not write about it and make money from your posts?
You can start a blog for free at blogger.com, hubpages.com or squidoo.com. Simply create an account and start writing. You will need to create accounts in related affiliate companies such as Amazon, ebay and Google Adsense and this is how you make money from your articles. You will be talked through this process once you sign up with a free blogging site and there are plenty of online tutorials which will help you too. You will definitely need an Adsense account and you can learn how to create one by heading over to the Google home page and clicking on ‘advertising programs’ below the search bar. Then click on ‘Get started with Adsense’.
Your income will Depend on your topic and how well your blogs do in the search engines. You can also write about products and this is a good way to earn good affiliate commissions by writing reviews and then linking to the product through your affiliate link. Often people will search for a review before purchasing something and if your site shows up and you have a good, well written review they may buy through your link, earning you a commission.
You can also join other affiliate programs and link through to various products. Clickbank.com is a good source of information products and you can earn good commissions of up to 75% of the sale price. Usually bloggers will have Google Adsense adverts placed around their articles and sometimes they will use E-bay, Amazon and Clickbank products too. Most of this is done automatically by the free blogging site but you can change the settings and add you own affiliate links too. All you need to do is enter your Adsense affiliate code in your profile details when signing up, and any other affiliate codes you have and the site will place the adverts around your text when you publish your blog.
You can write as many blogs as you like and with companies like blogger.com you don’t need to pay anything for hosting the site. However, serious bloggers and online marketers usually will get their own websites which they will host themselves. This costs more but you are likely to be more visible to the search engines by using your own site, providing you set it up in the correct way. This of course means more visitors are likely to come to your site, read your blogs and hopefully click on: either one of your adsense adverts or through one of your affiliate links to a product and purchase it.
For starters though it is well worth signing up to one of the free blogging sites and getting the feel of it. Once you have done a few blogs and got started it’s pretty simple. The more you create the more money you can make and all those little trickles will add up!
