Money Making Online

Money making online is quite a catchy phrase these days and it seems the fastest and easiest way to make money online is to sell a course teaching how to make money online! This can be a problem for those who purchase the ‘system’ since they might be copying a system which is being used by thousands of subscribers, all of whom are working the same system. Depending on the particular system that you subscribe to, you will have an array of potential problems with implementing it.

Firstly your course might be a relatively old one which presents some potential problems. Other users will have already taken certain niches and products presented for sale to subscribers may be completely over sold, leaving little in the way of room for you own marketing efforts. Certain Google searches will now be outdated if an older system is purchased and competition volume much greater than that advertised in the system. Often if a particular niche area is presented to potential affiliates in a course, hundreds if not thousands of affiliates will head for the exact same niche! This is crazy since they will be competing with so many other affiliates for traffic! It is often better to think ‘outside the box’ when looking for affiliate niches to fill – especially when following a course.

Since I began my online journey into making money online I have found many obstacles. The main one is complete lack of direction! Building sites to make money online does take time and if you are getting your traffic by the organic searches, i.e. free traffic, it can take months before your site is ranked. This is particularly frustrating when starting out since you simply do not know this and as a result just think that the information was incorrect. You search around for another ‘fast riches’ course and start all over again – often using a completely different tactic!

Another problem with online courses is that Google changes its policies and search strategies on a regular basis. ‘Black hat’ tactics as they are called which churn out content automatically become worth less as Google seeds them out and penalises them in the rankings. Even relatively new courses are written by people who have succeeded in the past using techniques which although may work today, are not as effective as they were 10 years ago due to the new competition, changes in Google SEO tactics and of course all the affiliates jumping on the band wagon!

To really make money online you have to really work at it. In general if a course sounds too good to be true it usually is! I have tried a few courses and am now sticking to what I know and using that rather than changing direction every few months – which got me nowhere. Based on an online course by a guy called George Brown, I now build small niche websites around ‘buyer’ keywords and promote associated products around the sites, together with useful and appropriate content. In general terms if you provide quality, valuable content which is easy to read and well optimised you are a lot better off than generating ‘spammy’ content of no value.

There are thousands of sites around the internet offering information of little or no value. Google easily spots these sites and they are rightly ‘punished’ in the search results. Now the internet is becoming much more user friendly almost anyone can write on the internet. The future is definitely to offer the end user greater value and less trash!
