Money making online can indeed be magical. It can also be your worst nightmare too! Having the right information and tools at your disposal is vital to online success – together with an unbreakable, stubborn will to succeed!
I started my online income journey a couple of years ago while making money from the auction site ebay.com
. I was buying and selling items using the miss-spelling tool (bargainchecker.com) and auction sniper (auction sniper.com) programs. Although I was making some money I was spending a lot of time searching for under-priced bargains, queuing at the post office and creating my new listings.
I thought there must be a simpler and easier way to make money online so decided to look for ways to generate income without having to handle physical products. Sure enough there was – but it seemed the whole world and his dog were already selling them!
As an affiliate you can sell literally anything which is available on the internet and earn commissions just by driving traffic (customers), to various websites. Well known companies like Amazon.com and ebay.com have these affiliate programs available but it was clickbank which really caught my eye. Here you can sell ‘information products’ and earn up to 75% of the sale because you are effectively finding the customers for the products and taking them to the product!
I decided that this is what I wanted to do and set about learning how. I did one course after another looking for the ‘blueprint’ to clickbank success! I built many sites and learned how to generate automatic emails to generate more sales. There was often too much conflicting information from course to course and I never really knew what I was doing with any depth of knowledge.
Eventually I settled on a workable method which allows you to build on your income streams and is a ‘hands off’ approach which once set up continues generating income ‘passively’. Having tried many online courses I have found George Brown’s Google Sniper 2.0 to be a great resource for money making online and George seems like a pretty cool guy.
He approaches the course in a clearly laid out way and I found the videos fairly easy to follow and understand. The only stumbling block I found was with the keyword research but George includes some great extra training videos and support which resolved any problems I had. Working from home has its benefits and its drawbacks. No more lengthly commutes and work any time you choose are a couple of the plus points of a work from home business but they have a habit of becoming all consuming. For this reason some people recommend setting regular working hours and putting aside a space for ‘office’ time spent on the business. It is easy to become distracted at home by friends, family, phone calls and sales people too so you need to make sure that you are letting people know your work hours and not allowing these intrusions which will effect your business if you let them.
Being on a computer offers its own distractions too and there are hundreds of sites, scams, emails and even friends who can find you and take away your precious time. Social networking sites can help your online business but it can also steal away hours of your day! There is a reason many work places don’t allow social networking sites and now that you’re your own boss you will have to become much better at time management and learn to cut out these distractions.
Setting goals is another important ‘must do’ when working for yourself since you are effectively your own boss. You need to get productive since you are not being paid for your time with an online business but for what you actually accomplish. Goal setting is vitally important as any self help guru, manager or company director will tell you. Without them you can expect to flounder in a sea of uncertainty, desperation and aimlessness! This is especially true of an online business where you will need long term goals and a clearly defined action plan. Each day when you get up you should already know exactly what your most important activities are for that day and have done them first thing before you can become distracted.
I have also heard that wearing appropriate helps set the ‘productive mind set’ rather than simply lounging in your pyjamas. I tend to agree with this and do find that when I dress and prepare as if I was going to an office, I am far clearer in my mind as to my intention for the day. Having an uncluttered work space is equally as important as a tidy space indicates a tidy mind which is something you will need when working from home as you will have plenty of things to clutter it up with!
One thing I have struggled with while working from home is to have a healthy set of boundaries with anyone else who shares the same space or house while you are working there. Essentially you are ‘at work’ but often we can feel duty bound to feed the needs of others rather than our own. Over time though I have discovered that it is quite reasonable to set some clearly defined boundaries if you are having constant interruptions from someone.
Taking time time out and remembering what is important in life is also an important aspect of working from home. It is easy to become overly involved with work at the expense of friends, family and life’s experiences in general. For me, a work from home business is essentially an opportunity to work the hours which suit me and make a living from home, or anywhere in the world for that matter, from a . Not only does it offer an income source but allows greater freedom of choice, peace of mind and total flexibility. The overall idea then is to create a happier and more contented lifestyle. This needs to be kept in mind throughout your online business journey – especially when you are ready to throw laptop your through a window out of frustration!
